DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Chemistry at LBSGPGC Saraswati Nagar was established in 1986. The department runs a B.Sc. Three Years Degree Course under “Choice Based Credit System” (CBCS). The course offers a detailed study of all the three major components of chemistry i.e. Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry including Spectroscopy. Along with that the Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) is also in practice which ensures the thorough understanding of applicability of the taught subjects in real life . The Department of Chemistry is well equipped with most of the updated academic and technological facilities required for an efficient quality teaching that includes two well maintained Laboratories and a smart classroom. The Department often organizes PowerPoint Presentations, classroom tests, quizzes and internal seminars (to make students aware of the ongoing research and opportunities in various fields of Chemistry as well as the current Literature Survey, especially for B.Sc. 3rd year students). Thus, the Department aims at the overall development of students so as they can comfortably pursue their career in any of the diversified branches of Chemistry.
